Saga Of Tanya The Evil II TV Anime Reveals 2026 Debut In Teaser Promo Video

Great news for anime fans! After a long wait, the official release window for the second season of Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki) has finally been announced.

Kadokawa confirmed on Friday that Saga of Tanya the Evil II will premiere in 2026. Along with this announcement, they released a brand-new teaser video and a visual to get fans excited.

The production team shared a new promotional video (PV) that gives us a glimpse into the upcoming season. While the wait has been long, Season 2 was originally announced back in June 2021 this new update confirms that production is moving forward for a 2026 release.

Staff and Studio Updates

There is one big change in the staff for the new season. Takayuki Yamamoto will be the new director, replacing Yutaka Uemura, who directed the first season. You might know Yamamoto from his work as an episode director for My Hero Academia.

However, many familiar faces are returning to ensure the show keeps its signature style:

Studio: NUT is returning to produce the animation.
Script: Kenta Ihara is back to write and oversee the series scripts.
Character Design: Yuji Hosogoe returns as both character designer and chief animation director.

What is Saga of Tanya the Evil?

If you are new to the series, the story follows a ruthless Japanese businessman who is reincarnated into a world of magic and war. He is reborn as a young orphan girl named Tanya Degurechaff. Despite her small size, she becomes a terrifying soldier known as the “Devil of the Rhine,” using her past memories and calculating mind to climb the ranks of the military.

The original light novel series is written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki. The first season aired in 2017, followed by a movie in 2019.
