New Godzilla Anime Series Announced: Concept Art & Studio Orange

Big news for Kaiju fans! A brand-new Godzilla anime series has officially been announced, and it promises to be unlike anything we have seen before in the franchise’s 70-year history.

Toho Animation revealed the exciting project today at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2025. They also shared the first look at the concept art, sparking huge excitement across the internet.

A First for the Franchise: The “Human-Godzilla”

For the first time ever, the story will not just be about a giant monster crushing cities. Instead, the new series focuses on a boy who possesses the power of Godzilla.

According to the concept art shown at the event, this young protagonist is depicted unleashing Godzilla’s signature radioactive heat ray from his own body. Toho’s “Chief Godzilla Officer,” Keiji Ota, described the project as a bold new challenge. He explained that the series aims to explore themes of both “fear and hope” in the modern world through this unique human character.

The Dream Team: Studio Orange and Igloo Studio

The animation is being handled by a powerful collaboration between two top-tier studios:

• Studio Orange (Japan): Famous for their stunning 3D CG work on Beastars, Trigun Stampede, and the previous hit Godzilla Singular Point. Producer Kiyotaka Waki expressed his excitement to use the studio’s technical skills for this fresh take on the King of the Monsters.
• Igloo Studio (Thailand): An award-winning studio known for My Daemon. Founder Nat Yoswatananont said it was a huge honor to weave their storytelling into the legendary Godzilla universe.

What We Know So Far

While the release date and voice cast are still a mystery, the announcement has set the stage for a massive year for Godzilla fans. This news comes hot on the heels of the global success of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and the Academy Award-winning Godzilla Minus One.
